Mergenthaler Quality Labor Certification Program
Program Purpose: Mergenthaler Transfer is an active participant in United Van Lines’ Quality Labor Certification Program. This was designed to provide agents with the structure and materials to train Packers and Movers to minimal acceptable levels which will be standard across the United agency family.
Phases of the
Program:
· Train-The-Trainer Workshop—this three-day workshop is the beginning of the trainer certification process. Participation is limited to 18 and attendees learn practical skills for implementing the program and conducting the training classes.
· Coaches’ Training—the first group of participants to go through the program are our current employees who have the potential to lead others. These coaches serve as supervisors in the field.
· Packer and Mover classroom Training—Each certification involves approximately 30 hours of classroom training. This training includes video instruction and demonstration, structured discussion, exercises and quizzes.
In the Field—200 hours in the field are required. During this time, coaches check off skills in employees’ passbooks once proficiency is demonstrated. Two performance reviews are conducted prior to the final certification
